Arsenal are putting in the hard work this summer as Mikel Arteta’s squad gears up for the new season with sporting director Andrea Berta busy in the transfer market the players have been pushed through an intense pre-season aiming to finally turn last season runner up finishes into silverware.
This year instead of heading to the USA like in previous summers, the Gunners toured Asia they started with a week long training camp in La Manga, Spain, before flying to Singapore for two games and then finishing in Hong Kong.
Pre-Season Fixtures & Results
- July 23: Arsenal 1-0 AC Milan – Bukayo Saka scored the winner in front of 20,000 fans, though Milan won the penalty shootout 6-5 after full time.
- July 27: Arsenal 3-2 Newcastle United –: A lively win in Singapore.
- July 31: Arsenal 0-1 Tottenham Hotspur –: Defeated by a stunning 40-yard lob from Pape Sarr in Hong Kong.
- August 6: Arsenal 2-3 Villarreal –: A disappointing loss back at the Emirates.
- August 9: Arsenal 3-0 Athletic Bilbao -: A strong win in the Emirates Cup.

New Signings & Noni Madueke’s Debut
Five summer signings Kepa Arrizabalaga, Viktor Gyokeres, Cristhian Mosquera, David Raya & Martin Zubimendi—have already featured for Arsenal during the tour.

Former Chelsea winger Noni Madueke didn’t travel to Asia, but made his first appearance for the club as a substitute against Villarreal on August 6. He then made his first start in the 3-0 Emirates Cup win over Athletic Bilbao lifting a trophy in his very first game in the starting XI.
